About us

Meet:

London McKiernan

Designer

Hi my name is London McKiernan. I am so glad you are here.

What inspired me to start this small business, stemmed from being a military wife and then transitioning out of the military into a police wife. It was a lot of nights alone with my two beautiful daughters Hudson & Emerie. This is how the name Hudrie was created.

Not everyone talks about the constant stress or worrying about your spouse while they are on shift. But, I knew I needed to find something to do with my hands. So, I created Hudrie Hats. I found joy in creating hats for people who wanted an excellent quality hat with their own customization.

I cant wait to create for you.

Hat Care

PRO TIP: It is best to avoid getting moisture on your felt hats as they tend to change shape as they dry.

Lint Roller

Always a have a lint roller on standby to help remove unwanted hair, lint or dust.

Hat Brush

Having a hat bristle brush is key in keeping your hat looking nice. Follow the natural grain of the wool felt and gently bursh in a counterclockwise motion.

Steam

Using a steamer steam the brim evenly until malleable, place on a clean flat surface and firmly smoothing out brim with a clean hand, then let dry completely.

Cleaning the Sweatband

To clean the sweatband from everyday wear use a toothbrush, mild soap + water, scrub gently and blot dry.

How To find your perfect fit

HOW ARE OUR HATS MEASURED?

Our hats are measured based on centimeters, most hats are based on the “average” Women’s head size at 57cm.

HOW SHOULD I ORDER?

At Hudrie Hats, all of our hats can always be adjusted. Therefore, ordering on the “bigger” size you have the option of them always being able to be made smaller.

HOW DO I DETERMINE MY HAT SIZE?

This depends on how you are wanting to wear your Hudrie Hat. You have the traditional style that sits above the eyebrows, or the halo style that sits a bit farther back with a slight tilt sitting farther on the back of the head. If wanting to go back and forth, its always recommended to go with that “bigger” size to be able to adjust back and forth.

  1. 1. Traditional Style: Use a sewing tape (or string) to measure the distance around your head crossing through the center part of the back of your head + the forehead just above the eyebrow. The tape should be level with the ground.
  2. Halo Style: Use a sewing tape to measure the distance around your head passing through the back of your head, just above the neck, + the front of your head high on the brow. The tape should be higher in front than in back.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY HAT?

Flip up the sweatband to find the Velcro tab, and pull to tighten. Tips about our adjustable inner band are: a little adjustment goes a long way, at first it may take a couple of adjustments to find just the right fit, but once you’ve found it you shouldn’t have to adjust often.

WHAT SIZES DO YOU OFFER WHEN IN STOCK?

S/M (55cm to 57cm)

M/L (57cm to 59cm)

XL (59cm to 61cm)
